  • Mr. West came and all the Clarkies got together and talked . Fun.

Tonight was the first night JoAnna, Taylor, and I got together at the same time (the 3 06′s from clark high school) and talked about our time here . I loved it. I love them

There’s a crazy screwdriver man on one end of the campus and a sexual molestor on the other side of campus lol. Girls BEWARE!!!!!!! Scream as loud as you can if he DOES get to you, SCRATCH HIM lol so you get his skin under your fingernail = DNA! (this shall NOT happen or it better not, but just in case lol)

Holy crap my weekend looks busy ahha. Oh well! I’ve been chill-laxinnnn

I have to keep reminding myself…don’t let the world scare me . Jeremiah 29:11.

So tonight we surprised Olivia . Yayy lol. So here, I guess it’s a tradition of Christian fellowships to pie the birthday victim lol. There was confetti everywhere and it was fun . It was a great way to substitute my homework haha.

Oh yea, and good luck to all you college applicants

  • So studying for the chem exam was a pain in the butt. It took me two whole days to figure out what was happening. Then, it didn’t “click,” but it GRADUALLY began to store up in that little brain I have in me. I literally learned the last chapter an hour before the test >.< lol. PHEW haha, now I have to see if I beat average or not . It didn’t kill me so YAY but i didn’t kill it either lol, so we shall see haha.

Advice for all you high schoolers: Take all the AP sciences you can if you’re going to be an engineer or pre-med…because EVERYONE else already did and you’ll be at a major disadvantage lol.
PLUS, if you’re in Engineering, take statistics, it’s very important lol sadly.

Last: GO TO PENN GO TO PENN WOOHOOOO hahaha for all you over-achieving soon to be college students

Mr. West is in town YES! I get to be reminded of Vegas here! Woohoo hahaha.

    Dudeeeee. College is humbling. lol.

Locust walk is so pretty, especially with all those lightssss.

I apparently don’t look Korean. I’ve been mistaken by a genuine authentic Chinese lady at a mall who..thought I was Chinese lol and started asking me questions in Chinese. Thank God I had a chinese friend next to me lol. PLUS, other Koreans don’t think I’m Korean. Whoa hahhaha.

Ok, that’s my life for now. YAY byeee

I had “Dinner with Dr. Esther Chen” today. Holy crap. Going to Penn was not the smartest decision for me in terms of what I want for my future. It’s okay. God’s plan .

I really like my roommate though. I just had to get that out lol. >.<

  • So, these past three nights, I’ve spent time with three different families for dinner lol. For not going home for Thanksgiving, it was good .

For Thanksgiving, Perry, a (I guess you can say teacher) sponsor from my church college fellowship took me to his house for dinner to enjoy with his family . It was awesome. I love his children and the turkey was WOW lol.

Friday night, Professor Zandi (my scholarship donor) picked me up from the Radnor train station (it took me a while to figure out this train system lol) and I went to chow with his family. It’s so pretty in the suburbs of Pennsylvania lol. There were three deer just walking around his front yard lol. His family is HUGE. Although I felt kind of out of place lol because I was the only non-family member and I didn’t know anyone, it was fun seeing how they were. All I can say is wow haha, they love family ahhaa. I played wall-ball with his children (who are like.. in the 40s lol) in their basement hahaha. (It’s specially made for Wall-Ball, REALLY lol, even the floor is astro-turf lol).

Saturday night, I went to Rachael’s mom’s friend’s best friend’s house (lol complicated huh) and ate dinner there. It was amazing too lol.

Church was good . I loved getting enough sleep to try and grasp all of it too. I tried my first “real” philly cheesesteak today…WOW it was amazing haha.

So.. I’m enjoying life while I can . I’m diving into the deep end now.. and you won’t see me rise from the water for some time lol so please be praying for me while I attempt to tackle my work.

Really.. it hit me like this. WHOA. I’M SCREWED. lol yup .

  • Happy Birthday to my dog! Sarah! 9 years old!!! lol
    I’m thankful for her!

    HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

I’m thankful for my God for unconditionally loving me, family for always supporting me, for my friends for always being there for me, and for my city (Las Vegas) for always being so clean (compared to other big cities believe it or not lol).

Otherwise, I’ve been living a very unthankful life here but I think that’s because my viewpoint was all wrong . So… here’s a thankful list with a new perspective .

    1. I’m thankful for being at Penn even though most of my months here have been really tough on me. In the end, I know that I will be a stronger person and that God has put me here for a reason. Plus, I learned that bioengineering is just ridiculous lol.
    2. I’m thankful for my friends here who have made such an impact on me since the beginning of school. Whenever I felt down, seeing you guys felt amazing. Thanks for your random acts of kindness, words of encouragement, and opening arms.
    3. I’m thankful for some students here who… are snobby, spoiled, and overconfident . I can tolerate them better now lol and when i actually get to know you guys, you guys can be cool . I know that there are many people with very different personalities and you guys are just great .
    4. I’m thankful for my church and fellowship. I have grown much since I’ve been here. You guys are so amazing that words cannot tell you how thankful I am!
    5. I’m thankful for the ridiculous amount of work/class-hours compared to other freshmen because when they experience it soon, I will already be done with the “adapting.” Plus, I will have learned a lot. (Although college isn’t all about academics!) lol.
    6. I’m thankful for my roommate. Although sometimes I am annoyed of you and I know that I think living with you tends to be hard, you can be awesome and nice too. Thanks for the notes, some snacks, and supporting Asians because you compare them to Jews lol. (He’s a jew) *.^ You cool you cool haha.
    7. I’m thankful for the constantly changing weather here; whether it be rainy, windy, hot, or cold. Weather.com can’t predict you because they change everyday and umbrellas don’t work because… rain just finds a way to hit you another way. However, it can be amazing and it’s fun to see a new type of weather.
    8. I’m thankful for Philly. Although seeing a star, or even clear sunlight can be hard, it makes days when you see it special. I go to sleep hearing sirens, cars, people screaming, and… I’m thankful for that, because… I’m inside . Plus, I’m very thankful for this city’s history .

The list may go on later .

But… I’m eating dinner at my church college fellowship sponsor’s house today! Yay .
Then with a professor/scholarship donor tomrrow! yay! lol
    *will get fat*

  • Ahhh. I miss you guys so much .

I hate days when you just try to get a lot done but you really can’t…because you get caught up looking at old pictures, myspace, facebook, xanga…. AHHHHHH lol. What horrors the internet world has done to students who need to study!!! lol

I want to go home . Being so far away isn’t so great…*sigH* haha. But… when December rolls around w00t w00t!

Elim Youth  . No words, just lol. Know that I’m praying for you guys faithfully.

I love the people I have met here . I love my church here. It’s amazinggggg lol. Plus they’re good cooks hahha.

Goal: Gain weight before I come back haha. I must use all my meals up! I must gain 10 pounds!!!!! lol

  • So, today was the last “big day” Yay.

Bioengineering presentations went fine I think..hopefully…grades are not up yet, but EVERYONE did a fabulous job. lol The fact that it’s graded against each other though = nervewrecking lol. I thought our slides looked cool until I saw everyone else’s lol. Anyway, I think we did alright for a group of four men (in terms of how the poster looked) haha.

Go Advanced Optical Solutions (AOS)! haha.
    Where EYES are our business!

Ok.. lol. Anyway, afterwards, I went to CVS and got a White Chocolate Box of chocolate because I was headed off to a dinner w/my scholarship donors. lol, As soon as I got home, I started opening the box of chocolate!! >.<, it was meant for my donor and not for me >.< lol. As soon as I realized, I stopped myself… lol and then decided to still give him the chocolate box even though it was halfway open >.< haha. It wasn’t, THAT noticeable lol

Anyway, they were nice. The food was awesome in a way lol, they had 100% crab- crabcakes!!!! *drools* lol. It was one of the first times where they had servers walk around and actually have real food . There were a lot of rich people lol. I met my donor and the first thing he says is, “Las Vegas, ahh, I have lots of money there.” Then his colleague said, “People like him help Vegas grow.” (I’m going to assume that means he bought many of the condos that are going up there lol) hehehe. He was a nice guy though. He’s a professor here.

Mrs. Zandi, Me, Professor Zandi (Scholarship donors)

Now.. I gotta catch up on work.

I guess I can accept life here. The people who graduate really seem to love Penn, I don’t see why yet but I guess I’ll figure out lol.

  • Today was awesome.
Done with my last midterm, deciding to go out and have fun instead of doing work , hanging out with the coolest bunch of friends, eating at the new Philly Diner after trying to learn how to ice-skate , and then going to the 24/7 prayer tent and noticing the amazing works of God all over the world.

So this prayer tent is amazing and the brother he is using for this tent is so dedicated and faithful to it. , I hope he sees the impact he makes on others as well as the comfort the prayer tent provides by bringing in God’s love onto campus. It’s amazing. Inside, there are two maps, one of America and one of the world and there are stickers on places where people have prayed for. Michael said today that it was amazing to see how much prayer for a country/city there is in one week in a tent. Now just imagine what the whole world is doing . There is a wall for sticking prayer requests and people actually read and check them off as they are read and prayed for. There is a wall to post praises on, a side to write praises to God, a mirror to remind us that God loves what we are seeing (us in the mirror), a curtained off area for isolated prayer, a nice heater in the room, a sin shredder because once sin is confessed and forgiven, it is gone forever. Last but not least, it has brothers and sisters that we can depend on in the tent 24/7! How amazing is that

To top it off. I saw my first star in Philadelphia today . God works in mysterious ways.

I’m happy lol. It gives me joy to live my life. I don’t know why I’m here, I don’t know my future, and I don’t know how I’m going to survive Penn, but I do know that God has put me here for a reason, so I guess all I have to do now is wait and find out .

    JESUS RULES~!

  • Ahhhh, so my week… if I could sum it up in one word….. _______________.
I can’t think of a word.. lol, it was …. hahahahha.

Anyway, after tomorrow, I will have magically finished all my midterms for the next couple of weeks. Top it off with a final presentation on Monday. Then, I get to eat a FORMAL YAY dinner with my random scholarship donor haha. I can’t wait to dress up…haha.

So to those people that have been there for me throughout the week , thanks so much. You guys helped me out so much .

Today was nice. I had 3 smoothies today lol. Rosette came from Berkely, I haven’t seen her in ages!! So.. it was a Penn-Clark HS reunion at POD w/JoAnna, Rosette, Tiffany, Young Ran, and Ryan . AHhh it was a nice study break and I definitely needed something along those lines. It was amazingggg, something I really needed .

So.. I’m not doing well in college – but, I will kick buttttt in life .
There’s this 24/7 prayer tent on campus for this week… I LOVE IT lol. Just pop in there at random times during the day to pray and WOW. , I’ve definitely been on a roller-coaster ride here, but it’s made me rely on Him more so I’m good . JESUS RULES~!

    Yet…still pray for me lol.

  • So my “stress-free” woohoo, not to worry time lasted only a sad 4 days.

I don’t know why I’m so scared about everything .
I’m like.. never at rest here.
Prayers would definitely be appreciated .

The scheduling for next semester is so much harder to do than my first semester . Talk about a wacko schedule. On the bright side… it’s 1.5 hours less class…. but still way too much *SigH* lol. *EMO* haha

    Congratz to Stef! w00t w00t!!
She not only passed her DAT… she killed it!!!
Her dad (who’s a dentist) should be scared because his daughter is crazier about teeth than him! haha jk jk

Something brought me back to Jermiah again.
Phew. Jeremiah is obviously a great Book.

SungKyung won a MP3 player , see I read your guys’ xangas sometimes haha. But congratz to you .
Instead, I bought one haha. And.. yes, it’s an IPOD buaha
Ok now i’m just being mean again
